Rokah, Yisrael
(1896-1959)
   Israeli communal leader and politician. He was born in Jaffa. He was a member of the Tel Aviv city council from 1922, the city's deputy mayor from 1929, and major from 1937 to 1953. He was elected to the Knesset in 1949 as a General Zionist member, and later served as minister of the interior (1953-5), and deputy speaker of the Knesset (1957-9).
